EPQM

The EPQM meter is a multi-tariff device for measurement of active and reactive electrical energy of both directions and is approved in accordance with IEC 62053-11, IEC 62053-22, IEC 62053-21, and IEC 62053-23. Meter operates in 3- or 4-wire networks and is transformer operated (accuracy class 1.0 or 0.5s). EPQM meter can be easily incorporated into AMR systems through 20 mA Current Loop or RS485 interfaces.

Measuring

Meter operates in three-phase 3- or 4-wire electricity networks and measure:
  • Active energy (bi-directional) with accuracy class 0.5s (IEC 62053-22) or 1.0 (IEC 62053-21)

    Data storage

    EPQM meter has non-volatile memory, which allows to store metering data without influence of power outages. Capacity of stored data:

    Load Profiles

    Average demand values are stored in the load profiles at the end of every integration period:
  • Load profile capacity:
  • up to 140 days with integration period of 60 minutes;
  • Programmable integration period:
  • 15, 30, 60 min.

    Communications

    Meter has optical communication interface in accordance with IEC 62056-21. Optical communication interface allows the user to read data and program meters in the field or in the workshop.
    EPQM meter can have up to two independent electrical communication interfaces with protocol in accordance with IEC 62056-21 or IEC 62056-31, allowing connection of meters to AMR system through external GSM/GPRS, RF, PSTN and LAN controllers:
  • First electrical communication interface: 
  •  20 mA current loop
  • [Optional] auxiliary electrical communication interface:
  •  20 mA current loop or RS485

    Outputs/Inputs

    Security features

    Hardware protection allows only authorized persons to access meter:
  • Two seals on main cover;
  • Two seals on terminal cover;
  • [Optional] optical communication interface sealing.

  • Software protection allows only authorized persons to program meter with software for meter programming and data reading:
  • Meters programming feature is protected by password; if incorrect password is entered four times in a day, the password acceptance will be locked for 24 hours. During that period meter programming is impossible.

  • Meter with internal clock has Events logbook, registering the following events:
  • Power outages
  • up to 9999 events, last 14 events with date & time;
  • Missing of any phase voltage
  • up to 9999 events, last 5 events with date & time;
  • Meter programming
  • last 10 events with date & time;
  • Magnetic field influence
  • total #, duration, last event with date & time;
  • Internal errors
  • up to 9999 events;
  • Main cover openings
  • last event with date & time.

    Display

    EPQM meter is equipped with alphanumerical 32 symbols two-line LCD (Liquid crystal display). LCD displays any data accumulated in meter and parameterization constants. Features:
  • Cyclic (automatic) and static (manual) data scroll
  • Load quadrant indication
  • Menu control by light signals
