SMART GEMS
We are pleased to announce
that “Elgama-Elektronika” Ltd has
successfully completed the “Smart Gems Management” project (hereinafter
referred to as the “Smart Gems” project) implemented since September 2015. This
project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research
and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grand agreement. The
“Smart Gems” project was implemented on the basis of a consortium agreement,
together with other electricity grid infrastructure companies and technological
universities. Collaboration and staff exchange is pursued through a significant
number of secondments from academic to industrial partners and vice versa.
During secondments of “Smart Gems” the company employees worked together with specialists from
academic communities such as the Cyprus Institute, the Technical University of
Crete, Brunel Universities in Calabria and London. The main objective of the
project is to fully analyze all aspects of smart grids targeting in the
improvement of reliability, mitigation of security risks, increase load shaping
and energy efficiency, optimal integration and generation-consumption matching
as well as smart monitoring and control. During the secondments, the company's
employees carried out research related to the development, optimization,
management and monitoring of smart grids, which will help to develop new
reliable smart concept solutions.
